Chairs and watersports are definitely for the use of their patrons only. LOCAL ATTRACTIONS: A seemingly small city of bars, creperies, restaurants and gift shops line the path leading down from the access road to the beach. ACCESS TO BEACH: The directions are not well marked but access can be found directly to the east of the road that leads to the Club Med. This is an open beach and Caravelle has to share it with the local population and visitors. QUALITY OF BEACH: An outstanding long white sandy beach consisting of a series of bays and coves, and since it is protected by an off shore reef the water is exceptionally calm, shallow and warm. Excellent shade is provided by hundreds of palm trees that form a shady grove running the length of the beach. ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Certain areas of this beach are clothing optional. Numerous vendors, mostly young French visitors who are trying to extend their holiday by vending on the beach, ply their trade selling everything from 'beignets' (donuts) to swimwear. Fortunately they are low-key in their presentation. Windsurfing boards are available for hourly rentals.
